New Movie: Coming Out Soon!

Hope Stout and her story of a remarkable battle with bone cancer at age 12 and how she handled her fate is reflected in a new book to be published March 4th, ' 08. It is to be made into a movie in the future.

The March Forth with Hope Foundation will be at the Christian Lifestyle Expo to talk about this inspirational story. Hope's Wish will be on the book shelve and her father & mother, Stuart and Shelby Stout will be there to sign books. Stuart is the president of the Charlotte Christian Chamber of Commerce.

Hope's Wish was for "Make a Wish" to make the 155 other children who's wishes were waiting to come true. With help of the Charlotte community $1,100,000.00 was raised to make that dream come true.

50 years .....Yes, 50 years that is how long it took Bob Byerly of High Point, NC to retire. I can remember meeting Bob when I was 13. Shortly after that I met his Goddaughter, Jean and married her 7 years later. We spent most of our youth (day in day out, night after night) at the Rol-a-Rink in High Point. Bob is as special to my wife and I as he is to the hundreds who had the honor of training under him during those 50 years.

Bob and his wife, Polly became family to everyone in High Point, NC who ever tried on a pair of roller skates.

Bob is nationally known for producing champions in Dance, Figures, and Speed Skating. But more over, Bob represents and sets the example for Christian business ethics more than any business person I have ever met.

Bob and Goddaughter Jean bottom: The 60-70's group above

On Sunday, May 4th, several hundred of his past students returned home to honor him with a retirement party at the Rol-A-Rink. Former competitive team members, students, and friends came from as far away as Washington State to attend the retirement party. Bob given hundreds of competitors the values, confidence and competitive spirit that each has carried over into their adult life. He has give thousands of families in High Point a place to come together for fun and fellowship without parents having to worry about safety, any misconduct, or inappropriate language. Bob will close the Rol-a-Rink this weekend for the final time with tears not only in his eyes but those of his past students, friends, and family. He began his enterprise in 1958. The discipline, hard work, practice, kindness, and competitive spirit he represents, has guided my wife and I through the years. I sincerely hope I can set the same example with the Carolinas Christian Chamber for others that he has passed on to my family. They say one person can't make a difference. WRONG! One person can make ALL the difference!

CONGRATULATIONS BOB AND POLLY BYERLY and Thank You!

You are a credit to yourself, your family, your business and the Christian marketplace.
